Ausstellung "Ludwig Wittgenstein und Trattenbach"
Trattenbach was Wittgenstein's first station as a primary school teacher from September 1920; according to a chronicle, he taught around 70 pupils there. Exhibition about Trattenbach in Wittgenstein's time with the bed from Cambridge designed by Wittgenstein. Our tip: Combine your visit with the Wittgenstein Trail and a stop at one of the surrounding inns.
"The world is all that is the case."
Every year in August, philosophers from all over the world gather in the Feistritz Valley, which is transformed into Wittgensteinland for two blissful weeks.
Ludwig Wittgenstein wrote (now 102 years ago): "I am therefore of the opinion that I have essentially solved the problems [of philosophy] once and for all". Fortunately, he was wrong, otherwise there would be nothing left to discuss. Trattenbach, Puchberg and Otterthal were stops for this unusual primary school teacher, who thought that everything essential had already been said. He certainly made a good choice as far as the landscape is concerned.
At the symposium, those interested in philosophy will once again have the opportunity to listen to lectures on various aspects of his philosophy. There will also be an evening program with various concerts. So there will be time to celebrate, to philosophize and to learn ... two inspiring weeks full of ideas to look forward to.
