Wetterkoglerhaus am Hochwechsel

The Wetterkoglerhaus is located at 1,743 m at the summit of the Hochwechsel and is the highest mountain hut in the Vienna Alps. A magnificent 360° panoramic view opens up from here - from Lake Neusiedl to the Alpine giants Schneeberg, Rax and Hochschwab.

The cozy hut invites you to stop off after a hike or ski tour and offers regional delicacies as well as overnight accommodation. The sunrise at the summit is particularly impressive - an unforgettable experience for nature lovers.

In winter the shelter is open, 2 emergency beds are available. There is a heating facility (1.00 € coin slot), there is also an emergency telephone for mountain rescue.
