Use of Child seats on bikes

Please note!

Safety is our top priority, and therefore we would like to communicate some important rules regarding the transportation of children on our trails.

Transporting Kids on your Bike

Transporting children in front of or behind the handlebars is not allowed in our trail park and on the panorama trails. This regulation is not based on the riding skills of the rider or their willingness to take responsibility. Rather, it is a necessary measure concerning liability and insurance issues.

This particularly pertains to setups where children are transported between the rider and the handlebars. According to Austrian road traffic regulations (StVO), these child seats are not permissible. Additionally, the Austrian Road Safety Board (KFV) has classified these seats as dangerous. This classification is based, among other factors, on fall/crash scenarios. As a sports facility, we cannot ensure the safe use of these seats, and since we would be liable in the event of an accident, we regrettably must enforce this regulation strictly.

Our rental service offers children's bikes starting from balance bike size, so outings with kids in the trail park are possible for all age groups, even if no personal children's bicycle is brought along. If your sole intention is to use a child seat upon arrival, the ticket can be returned after being asked to leave.

Child Bike Trailers

Child trailers that are approved according to Austrian StVO are allowed on forest roads (orange marked Panorama Trails). However, we would like to explicitly point out that the use of child trailers on mountain bike trails (marked blue-organge, green, blue, red and black) is not permitted.

We appreciate your understanding of these rules, which aim to maximize safety for all visitors to our trail park. Thank you for adhering to these guidelines!
